"An eventful weekend. Celebrating a marriage and retirement. A friend from work tied the proverbial knot. A ceremony that reflected the personality of the bride and groom? Our seating choice was an interesting one, a friend from work and my fiance were they only one's I knew at the table of nine. Well, fun was had by all. I was the date of an invited guest, my fiance, basically the standard fare of wedding activities S-L-O-W-L-Y paced throughout the reception.
Then, a retirement of a friend/priest, a very intelligent well spoken, and thoughtful man. Father Ted. We had come to know Ted from recently joining St. Luke's for planning our wedding, so in this we were required to do the marriage classes that come with the responsibility of making a marriage work. Before doing this I had my suspicions of what to expect, however with Ted and the common sense material and approach, I found it to be very valuable and actually looked forward to each session. Not to mention the point in both of our lives making this a worthwhile experience. Today was the final time Ted would be at the altar, gave a great sermon as we have come to expect. The key thing I have come away from it with is this, don't take yourself to seriously. Something I will try and live by. So anyway, a nice day to say the least.
I thought this place was about a lunch spot, not this life bullshit, well it all goes hand and hand I guess. Nothing new on the lunch business, I did not get over to Cascades yet, but plan to!"
To be continued...
